Thrybergh Science Club Week 7!

For our final Science Club of the year, we were able to use the Food Technology room to have a mini party while learning how to make ice cream in two different ways!

First, we made ice cream using the scientific factors of putting various flavoured milkshakes into a small food bag and then into a larger food bag that contained ice and salt. The salt helped to melt and change the temperature of the ice, and in turn made the flavoured milkshake into ice cream.

Secondly, we made ice cream/smoothies by adding together various frozen and fresh fruits with a bit of sugar, and then mixing them well in a blender. The students could then eat their ice cream or take it home in a container to freeze and eat later.

We concluded the year’s Science Club by giving out prizes to those who have regularly come along between April and July, ranging from Science Club t-shirts, Science Club caps, chocolate and some mystery prizes which they all enjoyed.

Science/STEM club will be back again next year following the Summer holidays, where we hope to see you all again along with some new faces, testing our skills and developing new ones.

Well done to all the students who have kept coming to Science Club throughout the year, have a wonderful Summer!
