As part of Staying Safe Week, students attended assemblies on the dangers of railways, led by resources from the British Transport Police and Network Rail, and the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue talked about water and road safety.
We were also privileged to welcome Simon Haycock to speak with students. Simon’s son, Sam (16) drowned at Ulley reservoir in May 2021. In one of the most powerful assemblies that we have had – Simon talked about the effect that the tragedy had on Sam’s family, friends, community, and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
