Referral Criteria
Students that can be referred for consideration to the Arran Hill Centre must have experienced one or more of the following:
- Neglect
- Emotional Abuse
- Physical Abuse
- Domestic Abuse
- Sexual Abuse
- Looked After Children with attachment difficulties or previously Looked After Children that have returned to parents
- Mental health needs – anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm
- Challenging behaviour – We are not a PRU
- Trauma
- Bereavement
- Communication and interaction difficulties – ASD, selective mutism
- School avoiders
Referral Process
Discussions around potential candidates to be referred will take place at school level.
Contact Nikki Turner (nturner@arranhill.org) or Oliver Steeple (osteeple@arranhill.org) to discuss any possible referrals.
If a place is available and the referral is deemed appropriate, the child and parent would be invited for a look around. If parents agree, then the school will ensure the following are emailed before a start date is given:
- Student SEN Support Plan
- SEMH graduated response information from the RMBC team
- One-Page Profile – including academic data, safeguarding concerns
- Most Recent Academic Report
- Attendance Herringbone
- Medical information/allergies/diagnosis (if applicable)
- Risk assessment (if appropriate)
