TA Science Club!

This week in Science Club, students used their knowledge of space, and spacesuit materials in order to use the Spark Box pack they received from their trip to Magna. Everyone designed their own planet and spacesuit, then finished the session by making some bottle rockets with sodium bicarbonate and vinegar.

The students did a great job when completing the various STEM Spark Box packs, and followed instructions to see if they could make some successful bottle rockets. They learnt about the amount of sodium bicarbonate and vinegar needed, in order to affect the amount of gas produced to push the bottle into the air. There were varying successes, but the students had so much fun, and eventually we got some good bottle rockets flying into the air.

Amazing work, well done everyone!

Science Club are also looking at doing an Easter Science Club Raffle, where tickets will be 20p for one, and £1 for a strip – this will be drawn on the last week.
