Recently, a few Y9 Art students at Thrybergh Academy have been involved in creating a film with the organisation Flux Rotherham, as part of the ‘Otherham Winter Light Festival’.
The event imagines a place where nothing is quite as it seems; where the imaginations of
young people have transformed the town, giving it an otherworldly twist. This is
‘Otherham,’ a magical town where stone walls might open portals to new worlds, where
you can order the weather with your coffee, and where kindness is delivered by fluttering butterflies. It’s both familiar and fantastical, a reimagined Rotherham that invites you to see
the town through a new lens.
This is a free 3-day festival of light, sound, and art that will
illuminate a trail throughout Rotherham Town Centre. It takes place over 3 consecutive
evenings 24th, 25th, and 26th of January 2025, 4:30pm – 8:30pm each evening.
