TA Science Club Week 4!

This week in Science Club, we chose to bring forward The Superheroes Challenge due to the bad weather. The students had four parts to The Superheroes Challenge, where they learned the ways films use science to make them more interesting!

The students’ four activities were as follows:

1) Using a ray (light) box they have several different Bat Signals that slide into the ray (light) box and shine onto a white surface. They had to decide which Bat Signal was the best.

2) The students tested different types of vortex cannons (made from pringles tubes) to see which size hole knocked down the characters.

3) They then made foam using various chemicals mixed together to see if they could destroy the mutants.

4) The final task was to make various types of slime.

Well done to all the students who came along this week and enjoyed the various challenges, learning many things on the way to produce some good results! We look forward to seeing you again next week for more investigations.

Competitions with the activities will start to run alongside each other again over the coming weeks, where students will be chosen for their effort and good work for prizes later in the year. Prizes are for fun, learning and developing skills, showing leadership, and producing some amazing work.
